James Gunn and Peter Safran are tasked with shaking up the DC Universe, and in doing so, have scrapped several ideas from the previous plan, such as the return of Henry Cavill as Superman and Patty Jenkins’ new proposal for Wonder Woman 3. Many fans have speculated that after the cancellation of the third installment of the Wonder Woman movie, Gal Gadot had been “kicked out” from DC. However, Gunn has spoken about Gadot and her current position.
I don’t know where you get that from
Gunn’s response could be interpreted as either Gadot is still working with DC for a future Wonder Woman appearance or that she left DC of her own free will in the midst of the shakeup.
“I’m not sure where you get that we ‘kicked out’ Gal”,
Jenkins’ treatment for Wonder Woman 3 was rejected by the new DC regime because it didn’t fit into the plans that Gunn and Safran have for the DC Universe. According to his statement.
“I never walked away. I was open to consider anything that was asked of me. She understood that there was nothing she could do to move forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in the changes it has to make, so I understand that these decisions are difficult at this time.”
Before the news that ‘Wonder Woman 3’ was cancelled, Gadot shared a hopeful message about sharing with fans the “next chapter” of the superhero.
“It was announced a few years ago that I was going to play Wonder Woman. I have been so thankful for the opportunity to play such an amazing and iconic character and most of all I am thankful for YOU. The fans. I can’t wait to share the next chapter of her with you.”

Gunn addressed fans in a series of tweets defining their response to the decisions of the new committee.
“Our picks for the DCU are based on what we think is best for the story and best for the DC characters that have been around for nearly 85 years. Maybe these choices are great, maybe not, but they are made with true hearts and integrity and always with history in mind. We were aware that there would be a period of turbulence when we took on this concert, and we knew that sometimes we would have to make difficult and not-so-obvious decisions, especially in the wake of the contentious nature of what came before. us.”
One of the things Peter & I were aware of when we took the job as heads of DC Studios was a certain minority of people online that could be, well, uproarious & unkind, to say the least.
