The series of original shorts, which follows the glory days of Baby Groot as he grew up and got into trouble among the stars, premieres August 10 exclusively on Disney+. Take a look at the new poster for the series, featuring a very laid-back little Baby Groot chilling out to his favorite tunes.
Vin Diesel returns to voice Groot, and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is one of the show’s executive producers.
Who is Groot?
Groot belongs to the Flora colossus race but became a criminal by Rocket’s side. They later joined the Guardians of the Galaxy to confront Ronan. At the end of the Guardians’ first adventure, Groot sacrificed himself to save his allies. A part of his body was planted by Rocket, causing him to be reborn as Baby Groot.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we see him as an infant helping his team defeat Taserface’s Ravagers and the evil planet Ego.
As a teenager, we saw him fight Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and fall under the snap, only to return five years later in Avengers: Endgame. He will surely return in Thor: Love and Thunder and in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Meanwhile, you can see it in its most store version in I Am Groot, whose release date is next August 10.
