In addition to having the precious mines of Riotinto (one of our favorite exotic destinations in Spain) and to have one of the most beautiful medieval towns in SpainHuelva is a province that hides many secrets to discover.
It is a gastronomic cradle thanks to its prawns, cuttlefish and coquinas, it has extraordinary beaches and it is the ideal destination if you are looking for a cultural getaway. And if that weren’t enough, Huelva hides one of the most beautiful wild beaches in Spain. Who gives more?
El Rompido, on the coast of Huelva
With the classic white houses typical of Andalusia, El Rompido is located 15 kilometers from the better known Punta Umbría. It has the soul of a fishing village, something palpable from the port and the promenade where the small boats swirl, and it has two lighthouses that watch the coast and from which we will have a wonderful panoramic view.
One of them measures 13 meters and is from the mid-nineteenth century and next to it a taller and more modern one, 31 meters, which began to be operational in 1976. We can enjoy all this at the Precise Resort El Rompido-The Club, for example, in one of his apartments from 63 euros the night.

La Flecha del Rompido, a wild natural area
It might seem that El Rompido is just a small fishing village, but it hides one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Spain, The Broken Arrow.
It is located between the towns of Cartaya and Lepe, within the Marismas del Río Piedras and Flecha del Rompido Natural Park. Its particular location, parallel to the mouth of the Piedras River and under the influence of the marshes, has given rise to a unique landscape with a particular sandy formation of about twelve kilometers, parallel to the coast and called the coastal arrow. It continues to grow, in the last century 30 meters per year, and is a unique destination in the country.
Kilometers of white sand, marshy landscapes, estuaries, dunes and a wild natural landscape that is one of the most emblematic postcards of the western Atlantic coast of Huelva.
We can only access the sand tongue off the coast of El Portil and El Rompido by boat that allows you to spend the day in Nueva Umbría, a totally virgin beach in the middle of the Atlantic, opposite the mouth of the Piedras River. It’s perfect for To practice water sports like kayaking, paddle surfing or if you dare, even kite surfing.
