What the United States is trying to redo anime series “American” It’s nothing new and it didn’t start with ‘Dragonball Evolution’ or with ‘Death Note’, which already in the 90’s had several attempts.
Before deciding to translate and dub the anime, it was not clear to them that certain series would resonate well with the American public, so some studios tried to make their own version from scratch. If ‘Sailor Moon’ almost had a series that mixed teenage backfire and cartoons, ‘Saint Seiya’ he was also about to go through his own blender of ideas to remake the mythical anime series… but the pilot stayed buried for decades and it has only seen the light recently.

Mona has kept digging and also found ‘Guardians of the Cosmos‘, which would have been the American remake of Masaki Kurumada’s manga, and the full episode can now be seen on his channel.
As with the discarded ‘Sailor Moon’ series, Renaissance Atlantisc was in charge of creating this pilot… that although it started with some known elements, it also included a few new elements that, well, they were there.
The plot of ‘Guardians of the Cosmos’ also followed a group of five kids who had spent years training in different parts of the world to become stronger. And they also had to protect a young rich girl who was actually the incarnation of the goddess Athenawhile the other gods of Olympus and the Golden Knights wanted…Destroy the earth? whatI guess?
apart from American Cartoon Humor of the time, the series also had its own elements, such as that it was set in a kind of futuristic metropolis, which for some reason there were martial arts and that all the protagonists were exactly the same: 30-year-old hunks with a jaw of steel and a tracksuit as a uniform.
Some of the ideas from the original ‘Saint Seiya’ swarmed around the environment, and even the iconic armors are seen at some point. But things did not end well for Max, Zach, Clint, Quinn and Jakewhich is what these Knights of the Zodiac would have been called.
In the end, the Guardians of the Cosmos went to a folder and a very dark drawer, and there they stayed well locked up for a long time. Since then ‘Saint Seiya’ has continued to grow with more continuations and spin-offs, and even a new CGI anime with the submachine guns that tried to sneak into the cartoon series.
Now what we have ahead of us is a new Hollywood remake of ‘The Knights of the Zodiac’, but this time in live action and with a superhero movie flavor. seiya Apparently it is called Seiya and the armors appear from the beginning, but let’s see how the rest of the attempt works.
