Helena Bonham Carter has starred along with Johnny Depp several movies, and now gave his opinion about the current situation of the actor after the long trial for defamation in which he faced his ex-wife Amber Heard.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times Magazine Bonham Carter said that after these legal conflicts Depp is “completely vindicated. I think he is fine now. Totally fine.” The actress was also questioned about the criticism she received J.K. Rowland (author of the Harry Potter books) for having an alleged transphobia, to which she replied: “I think she has been bullied. She has taken people’s judgment to the extreme. She is allowed her opinion, particularly if she has been abused. Everyone carries their own story of trauma and forms their opinions out of that trauma, and you have to respect where people come from and their pain. You don’t have to agree on everything, that would be crazy and boring. She doesn’t mean it, she just says something from her own experience”.
As for Amber Heard, Helena said the actress simply took advantage of the Me Too movement. on the conflict with Depp: “My opinion is that (Amber) got on that pendulum. That is the problem with these things: that people will get on the train car because it is the trend and to be the poster girl of it”.
