Being young is wonderful, because you want to go out to parties, go shopping with your friends or your friends, experience things and usually your parents only ask you for good grades in school.
By making use of your learnings, you show them that when it comes to creativity, the sky is the limit, whether it is for an assignment or convincing your mother to give you some permission.
The example of this was given to us by Josefina, who for her 14th birthday demonstrated her knowledge of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), applying them in a series of PowerPoint slides, where, as a presentation, she argued why Your mom should give you permission to get a piercing in the nose.
We learned about this story because her mother shared photos of the exhibition on her Twitter account (marieletis), where we could read notes like “He would inform me of everything before doing it to me”, which shows us how responsible he is. In addition, the girl argues that the piercing would be very small and therefore not very visible.
Of course, the anecdote soon became a trend and some Internet users gave their opinion about how original the request was and that they should even grant him permission, to prevent him from doing it secretly and putting his health at risk.
Other rebellious twitterers commented that Josefina should get the piercing with or without her mother’s approval, while in the retweets, some mention that if dads are the first to pierce their ears when babies are born, then why don’t they let let them make a piercing in the navel, eyebrows or nose by choice?
So far, the young woman’s mother has not stated that she has given her an answer and neither if Josefina is already very happy for having her nose pierced.
So now you know, when you don’t know how to convince your parents, use all the resources you have at your disposal, it can be with a letter, a graph, a presentation or, what’s more, with a drawing, making the most of your art.
