The Venezuelan José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma” has had a very successful career not only as an actor and singerbut also as an entrepreneur for several decades in Latin America, being one of the best known artists in the region, thanks to his great successes.
However, the country where “El Puma” managed to make many great friends was Mexico. That was where he approached many people like “Tin-Tan”, Angélica María, Los Polivoces and Vicente Fernández, with the latter was one of the characters with whom he cultivated a beautiful friendship that remained until the day of the death of the great Mexican charro.
José Luis Rodríguez recently had an interview with Yordi Rosadoin which he spoke of some moments in which he lived with Vicente Fernández, whom he classified as an irreproachable person.
“A spectacular man, an immense spirit. We toured the United States Vicente put on a very strong show, he just filled everything. We were Manuel, the polivoces, Angelica María, a bunch of people and Vicente sang for about two and a half hours and the next day, in the morning, he was singing on the bus with an impressive voice. Vicente had a spectacular sense of humor,” said “El Puma.”
Although he stressed that he did not see Fernandez constantly, the Venezuelan artist spoke of the importance of the Mexican in his life. Additionally, told how was the last time he was able to go to the ranch of Vicente Fernández, located in the city of Guadalajara, where he thought that this would be his last meeting with his friend.
“In friendship you don’t need to be frequent, or calls, or anything. He was the first one who said yes when I made the album of duets and we did Dueño de nada; Vicente is irreplaceable”, he stressed.
“There in Guadalajara he received us with great affection, I was in the Federal District, but I went especially to Guadalajara to greet him why are those things where you don’t know when the last time you’ll see someone is going to be”, concluded José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma”.
