Nannies play a very important role in the lives of many families, because their work is not only limited to caring for children, but through their hard work and dedication, they guide and love them as much as their parents would. .
Many times, a good babysitter can teach, inspire and befriend the little ones in their care, making a positive impact on their lives. An example of this is Juan Jonsson and Ana Jiménez, the protagonists of the following story.
Juan was born in Sweden 51 years ago. However, when he was six months old, his parents’ work as missionaries took him to Cochabamba, Bolivia, in 1970, where he lived until he was six years old, since they had to move to Fuengirola, Spain.
From that early childhood in Cochabamba, Juan took with him the memory of Ana, the woman his parents hired as a nanny to take care of him and his two brothers. He never forgot her and, despite the fact that he was just a child when he saw her for the last time, from that moment on he had full conviction that he would meet her again.
A few weeks ago, the man, who is also a missionary, posted a video on Instagram in which he shared the story of his nanny, as well as his plans to meet her again on his return to Bolivia after 45 years.
In addition, he attached to the publication a link to the GoFundMe “A Help for Ana”, a campaign he created to raise funds for his old friend, who he knows makes a living selling sweets on the border with Argentina.
My parents were missionaries in Bolivia during the 70’s. We lived in Cochabamba and to bear the family burden, Ana helped take care of me and my siblings.
After 46 years I return to Bolivia, this time in search of Ana Jiménez, I want to thank her for how much she blessed my family.
I know that Ana currently lives in a town on the border with Argentina and makes a living selling candies on the street.
Do you want to help me find her? On my Instagram profile you have a link to GoFundMe, where you can voluntarily donate any amount and make a difference in Ana’s life. I’ll wait for you there!
Finally, the day came and Juan crossed the Atlantic Ocean to complete his trip to the past and see Ana again, with the help of the woman’s son, who, according to here live, It was a key piece for the meeting.
The missionary left Fuengirola, Spain, and after a long journey of almost nine thousand kilometers he arrived in Yacuiba, a city in southern Bolivia, where Ana lives with her son, who was in contact with Juan to plan the reunion that moved thousands of users of social networks.
Juan documented his journey on video until the moment he saw Ana again, which he shared with his followers on Instagram and TikTok and has melted the hearts of Internet users.
The clip shows how Ana doubts that man who is at her door, until she recognizes the child she cared for so many years ago. She at that moment she hugs him and raises her hands to the sky.
When I saw him again I didn’t recognize him, but in my heart I had him. I stayed with Juanito, he was six months old, he was affectionate. Later, when he grew up, he would run everywhere I was. I called him ‘my Swedish cholo’ and he called me ‘my nana’.
It has been 45 years since they last saw each other. He was then a boy and she was a young woman in her thirties. The reunion between the two could not be more emotional. Ana invited Juan to enter her house, where they happily talked and remembered some of her anecdotes while he showed her an album of photographs from her childhood.
The moments they shared together during the emotional trip continue to appear in the video, such as a visit to a typical Bolivian food restaurant, as well as the moment in which Juan enters a bus station with Ana, both holding hands to finally saying goodbye to her with a sweet kiss on her cheek.
Ana explained that when Juan and his family came into her life, she was going through a moment of sadness after losing her son to a heart disease and her husband in a work accident in Alto Beni.
When he was a child, I was sad that I lost my children, so he and his family came as a gift from God. All that was a weight for me and I got sick.
Juan wants to “honor” Ana, so he plans to continue helping her to reward her for everything she did for him. For now, we’ll be keeping an eye on their next meeting, which is sure to be just as emotional as the first!
The affection and love, that never goes away and that is why I am so privileged to meet Ana, she is very special.
