Attention because after ‘Saving the King’, we have a new documentary on HBO Max about another saga of power and corruption: ‘The Holy Family‘ (not to be confused with the Netflix series) will hit the platform next November 24 and we can already see the first trailer.
Composed of four episodes, the documentary series delves into the Pujol-Ferrusola clanemblematic family of Catalan society headed by Jordi Pujol, who was president of the Generalitat between 1980 and 2003. A figure who was seen in the eye of the hurricane when he confessed to having an undeclared fortune in Andorra.
“A Character Larger Than Life”
So David Trueba and Jordi Ferrerons co-direct this documentary which is introduced into the network of corruption of both Jordi Pujol and his wife and children, accused of having taken advantage of his father’s political influences to amass their respective fortunes and businesses. In Trueba’s words:
«As in the best novels, the Pujol family saga is peppered with anecdotes, incidents, and memorable episodes. Few human materials can be richer to portray a time and a country. Our idea is to give the material an epic treatment, where the desires and ambition also determine the final destiny of the characters. Faithful to real events, but with the conviction that we are dealing with an iconic character, larger than life.”
In addition to its premiere on HBO Max, DMAX will broadcast the first episode of the documentary that same Thursday 24 at 10:30 p.m.
