If I’m honest, I’m very happy that ‘¡García!’ isn’t (yet) falling victim to the HBO Max summer debacle. The platform has announced that will premiere the Spanish superhero series next Octobercoinciding with its participation in the official section of the next Sitges Fantastic Film Festival.
The announcement, which is accompanied by a new teaser official, comes just after HBO Max also confirmed that the world premiere of the comic adaptation of Santiago Garcia and Luis Bustos will take place at Austin’s Fantastic Festwhich takes place at the end of September, which shows that they want it to have enough international projection among fans of the genre.
Franco’s super agent
‘Garcia!’ It takes us to a hypothetical current Spain that is much more polarized and on the verge of political chaos. In these dark times, a young investigative journalist stumbles upon a conspiracy dating back decades: the existence of a cryogenized superagent created by General Franco’s secret services.
Francisco Ortiz and Veiki Velilla lead the cast of this adaptation, which also includes Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Francisco Reyes, Daniel Freire, Nico Romero, Helio Pedregal, Mario Pardo, Miki Molina, Marina Gatell, Pepe Ocio and Silvia Abascal under the direction of Eugenio Mira.
