the simple “As it was”of Harry Styles, is shaping up to be the most popular song of the year in the United Statesbut in the meantime he continues to break records, the most recent being the one that places the singer as the British artist with the most weeks occupying number 1 on the Hot 100 list in Billboard magazine.
In the list corresponding to the weekend of October 1 “As it was” turns 15 weeks in the top positionwhich places the former member of the group one direction above Mark Ronson (who along with Bruno Mars ranked first 14 weeks with the song “uptown funk” in 2015) and Elton John (with the theme) “Candle in the wind 1997”. Since the list of Hot 100 appeared 64 years ago singers like Lil Nas X, Luis Fonsi Y Mariah Carey they have managed to reach first place (with 19 and 16 weeks, respectively), but performing songs as a duet with other artists or groups; after them is Styles, who sings “As it was” solo plan, with no one accompanying him.
Along with that record in Billboard Harry can boast another achievement, but in his role as an actor: the movie “Don’t worry darling” -who stars together with Florence Pugh Y Chris Pine– is the most watched this week in the United States, after collecting $19.2 million at the box office.
