“Royal Mint Launches Coin Collection To Celebrate Harry Potter’s 25th Anniversary At Witching School,” the first volume of the phenomenally successful wizard adventures and fantasy universe created by author JK Rowling, is detailed.
The series will consist of four pieces which include a portrait of the famous wizard with round glasses, as well as the Hogwarts Express train, Professor Albus Dumbledore and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft.
The pieces include an optical effect that mimics the impact of a “lightning” when they are rotated in front of light, obtained thanks to a state-of-the-art laser that gives both a “magical” character to the coins, but also allows secure and authenticate them, specifies the Royal Mint.
The seven-volume series, released in 1997, tells of the adventures of the young wizard Harry Potter at Hogwarts school, and his fight against Lord Voldemort, a wizard in search of immortality.
Book sales of the series amount to hundreds of millions of dollars, while all eight films have generated billions of dollars in revenue.
The collection pieces presented this Thursday by the Royal Mint also include two pieces illustrated with portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, who died last month, and another two with the official portrait of King Charles III.
