A few months ago hajime isayama gave his fans some sad news, because he announced that he had no plans to work on any other manga. As he said in Anime NYC, ‘Attack on Titan’ (‘Shingeki no Kyojin’) It was his first and only foray into the industry and after such negative reactions at the end of the story, he had decided to retire as a mangaka and even went so far as to apologize to his readers.
Still, the reception at the event was very good and over the months it seems there has been a new wave of appreciation for Isayama… and It seems that they are thinking twice about leaving the industry.
New manga or spin-offs the view?
Isayama has attended the Angoulême International Comic Book Festival this year and has talked about his career in the world of manga. And of course, the question arose as to whether he had a new title in mind for the future, to which the mangaka replied that he was already working on something.
“It hasn’t been announced yet. But maybe I’ll pick up my pencil and pull out another fifteen pages,” Isayama said. “I can’t promise you anything, but thank you very much for your applause. I’ll try to do my best.”
Although the story of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’ is quite closed, it is always possible that it develops a little more with a new epilogue, since not all fans were happy with the outcome of the story. But it is also true that Isayama could be working on a spin-off to develop other characters.
In fact, in a recent interview with Crunchyroll, the mangaka said he was interested in doing a story about levi and you already have some ideas in mind. Perhaps these hypothetical pages are a self-contained story about him or another character in the group, but it should not be ruled out that Isayama was daring with a new work completely alien to the universe of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’.
Meanwhile, what is certain about the anime is that the next one is finally coming back. March 4 with new episodes.
