On the night of this Tuesday, January 10, the Golden Globes 2023 which will be full of surprises as it marks its 80th anniversary. As if that were not enough, the public is looking forward to this gala not only because of the luminaries that will attend, but also because of the list of Latin American talent competing for the gold award.
Within the list of Mexicans who stood out for their work in the cinema are Diego Luna, Diego Calva, Salma Hayek and Guillermo del Toro, who is competing for the statuette in three categories: “Best Animated Film”, “Best Soundtrack” and “Best Original Song”.
For his part, Diego Luna sees the success of the Disney series ‘Andor’ reflected with a nomination in the category “Best Actor in a Drama Series”competing against actors like Kevin Costner (Yellowstone), Jeff Bidges (The Old Man), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and Adam Scott (Severance).
However, he is not the only “Diego” who joins the Mexicans who are fighting for a Golden Globe in the 2023 edition, since Diego Calva earned a nomination for “Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy” thanks to his debut in the film ‘Babylon’ along with Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Tobey Maguire.
Another worthy representative of Mexico will be the actress Salma Hayek, who, although she is not nominated in any category, will walk the red carpet and have a special participation during the gala. On this occasion, the woman from Veracruz will present a category that until now remains unknown.
It should be noted that the 2023 Golden Globes ceremony, held at the legendary The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, will also feature the participation of Ana de Armas, Quentin Tarantino, Billy Porter, Letitia Wright, Henry Golding, Jennifer Hudson, Claire Danes, Jenna Ortega, Ana Gasteyer, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
