The story of Dayana Araujo, a Venezuelan who shared on TikTok her experience using Tinder to date and thus be able to eat for free, since at that time she was pregnant and did not have a job, has recently gone viral.
Through a series of videos, Dayana recounted that four years ago she moved with a friend to an apartment in Medellín, Colombia, but that they only had enough money to pay the rent, so they decided to use the famous apps to get some food.
However, she had a small problem: she was pregnant. Her ex-boyfriend had not taken responsibility for the pregnancy and the economic situation was not easy at all and she even assured that she wanted to find a job, but she did not have the money to even go out and look for a job and pay for public transport.
In this way, both women came up with the idea of downloading the application and thus making an appointment to go out to eat. Within her story, the young woman commented that one of the various appointments she had through Tinder was with a Muslim surgeon who was staying at a hotel in Medellín and who invited her to go to his room to give him money and then eat together.
Faced with this invitation, Dayana mentioned that she felt very distrustful, but that she finally came with her friend. Being there, the man offered them to order as much as they wanted, while he ordered about 10 dishes. Finally, when they finished eating, the man said goodbye to them and gave Dayana $230. According to the young woman, that was her best experience.
On the other hand, the Venezuelan affirmed that she also had bad experiences with American men, especially with one who was “very stingy”, with whom, of course, she no longer dated.
After her story, some users have shown empathy for the harsh situation she experienced at the time, but many more have thought that she was dishonest and “interested”.
Finally, Dayana commented that after using Tinder to go out to eat, she decided to return to her native Venezuela and is now the mother of a beautiful girl. In addition, everything indicates that, fortunately, her economic situation is much better than before.
