Due to technology and social networks, much progress has been made in locating missing persons. Such is the case of Chavita, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, a child who was stolen the same day he was born and who over the years was located due to the spread of his story on social networks.
In the same way, the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, an English girl who has been missing for 16 years and it is possible that her parents have finally found her, has been spread, because this year, a 21-year-old girl assured through social networks that he has enough evidence to think that she is Madeleine McCann, for which he asked for DNA tests.
Madeleine’s disappearance occurred at the Osean Club spa in Portugal on May 3, 2007, when she was vacationing with her parents and siblings in that country and since then, nothing is known of her whereabouts. According to the chronology of the events, the last time her parents saw her three-year-old little girl was when they decided to go out to dinner with some friends, leaving their children asleep in the room.
His parents were about a hundred yards away and continually took turns checking them out. Everything was going normally until Kate McCann, mother of the children, went to the room to check them and realized that her daughter Madeline was no longer in her bed.
The case spread to such a degree that Portugal already had alerts at airports and borders, in case the kidnapper tried to take Madeleine out of the country. Days later, the authorities announced that a man had allegedly been seen carrying a girl near the resort, so they did not doubt that a sexual predator was attentive to the girl and the family all the time, without the girl’s parents found out.
After finding many negligence on the part of the Portuguese police and the latter closing the investigation, over the years, her parents did not lose hope of finding her, so they continued to insist that the British police follow up on the case. In 2020, British investigators revealed that the main suspect was Christian Brueckner, a 43-year-old German man who was serving a sentence for committing sexual abuse between 2005 and 2018.
Although the man denied being responsible for the kidnapping of the girl, according to the investigators, this man was vacationing in the same city where the little girl disappeared and on the same dates.
For its part, the family continued to spread the photographs of their daughter and when they went viral on various social networks, Julia Wendel, a young woman of Polish origin, pointed out that she had some doubts about her origin and that she was a victim of Christian Brueckner. Because of this, and a comment from her grandmother, the young woman seriously suspects that she and Madeleine are the same person. In addition, she says that she shares all the similarities with the little stray.
Recently, Julia managed to get in touch with the McCanns because she created an Instagram page for them to go viral and thus be able to communicate with them. After some time, Madeleine’s parents have granted her the necessary tests to find out if she is her lost daughter or not.
On the other hand, the agents of the Scotland Yard, London Metropolitan Police, have refused to check the DNA of the Polish girl due to the high number of similar testimonies, coupled with the fact that experts from the London police force assure that, according to the An aging robot, Julia Wendel looks nothing like Madeleine McCann.
