Virgin Airlines has made history, becoming one of the first airlines to bring gender fluidity to the top of your image. From the freedom to choose the uniform to the pin with the preferred pronoun or the possibility of buying your tickets with non-binary gender.
The British airline will allow its pilots and flight attendants to choose the work uniform, skirt or pants depending on your tastes and regardless of gender. A step far beyond Iberia and stewardesses in sneakers. They will also give them the option of wearing a badge with their preferred pronoun, so that travelers and colleagues “know how to communicate with them clearly.”
So that it is not just a façade, the company will give compulsory courses and workshops on inclusivity for their workers and for the hotels with which they collaborate. They will also allow you to buy the ticket with the non-binary gender option, marking Mx. instead of Mr. or Ms.
With these inclusive changes, Virgin Airlines wants its employees to “celebrate their individuality at work, increasing your mental well-beinghappiness and creating a better experience for customers and workers.”
