We continue to enjoy and discover the country’s geography in search of charming corners, loaded with precious places that are worth visiting and letting yourself go. Thus, today we want to go to the heart of Castilla La Mancha, specifically to Real city, a city that we find just an hour and a half from Madrid and where we can find places as beautiful as those that we propose below.
Thus, in the same way that we have approached other towns such as Palencia, Soria, Teruel, Cuenca, Logroño or Seville, today we are going to La Mancha Spain where we discover ideal places.
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Prado
We begin with one of the emblematic sites of the city, the late Gothic-style cathedral with Renaissance elements that is worth soaking up well. But it is also worth it not only to see it during the day, from the inside, but also to wait for it to be closed since they illuminate the Virgin on the main altar and turn it so that it can be seen from the outside as well.
Main Square
A great attraction of the city is to visit its main square where its most outstanding building is the Arc’s House, belonging to the old town hall of the capital. Sitting on one of the terraces to enjoy the views is priceless and thus also enjoy the statue of Alfonso X the Wisefounder of the city.
The Gate of Toledo
In this case, we are before the last remains of the Royal Alcazar from Ciudad Real and which is a true spectacle with its 6 arches and 2 square towers. The photos are spectacular.
St. Peter’s Church
If we continue with the historical buildings, we cannot miss the Church of San Pedro where the most notable corner is the Chapel of the Coca which is a spectacular set of altarpiece and sepulcher made in alabaster.
In the city of Ciudad Real we can find many more interesting places and, without a doubt, in its province there are also incredible places that we could not miss on a weekend visit.
