In late April, Lionsgate confirmed that the prequel to The Hunger Gamestitled The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpentsan adaptation of the number one bestseller of the New York Times by Suzanne Collins, will hit theaters on November 17, 2023.
Although until recently, apart from the release date, the only thing we knew was that the movie would star Tom Blyth, who will play a young Coriolanus Snow, the villain of the previous installments, last week it was revealed that the star of Love without barriers, Rachel Zegler will join her talent to that of the actor, with the role of Lucy Gray Baird, the young tribute from District 12.
After a long wait, we finally have the first trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents. This June 5, the official Twitter account of the MTV Movie & TV awards was in charge of launching the brief preview and although it does not reveal images of the movie, it says that “in 2023, the world will discover who is a songbird and who is a songbird. it’s a snake.”
Furthermore, the mysterious trailer, which is almost two minutes long, shows a flashy golden snake crawling towards a golden bird in a tree as snow falls from both. You can check out the first sneak peek for yourself below:

At the 2022 MTV Awards we got an exclusive first look at ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents’. Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth will star in the latest adaptation of ‘The Hunger Games’, coming soon.
Although this first preview provides very few details, it is known that the plot of The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents will follow Coriolanus Snow, almost sixty years before he became the autocratic president of Panem.
The film will see the return of Francis Lawrence, director of the last three installments of The Hunger Gamesby screenwriter Michael Arndt and producer Nina Jacobson, who worked on the four previous films in the saga.
