As we told you a few weeks ago, one of Dave Bautista’s New Year’s resolutions for 2023 is to put aside the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Marvel Universe, park his role as Drax and focus on less “silly” performances to vindicate his profile as a more serious actor in feature films of different profiles.
At the moment, the ex-wrestler is not doing badly at all. His work in ‘Blade Runner 2049’ or ‘Daggers in the Back: The Glass Onion Mystery’ give a good account of this, and his surprising participation in the latest by M. Night Shyamalan, released under the title ‘ They knock on the door’, has shown his ability to give life to more sober and complex characters.
to have a good time
But this does not mean that good Dave wants to stop having fun, and what better way to make it clear that shooting a sequel to his actioner in a family key ‘Spy Game’ —’My Spy’—. The actor confirmed the imminence of the project during an interview with the Collider medium, in which he showed his affection for the original tape.
“Well, for sure I’m going to do the sequel to ‘Spy Games’. I know for sure because we start this month. So I’m going to South Africa to do it, I’ve been pushing for a long time because I love the first movie. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do a sequel.”
‘Spy Game 2’ is expected to bring Bautista and Chloe Coleman together again, who will repeat as the tough CIA agent JJ and the no less fierce Sophie – nine years old in the 2020 title. At the controls will once again be Peter Segalknown for being the person in charge of ‘Superagent 86’, ‘Grab it as you can 33 1/3: The final insult’ and the rom-com quintessential ’50 first dates’.
It is clear that ‘My Spy 2’ will not be the film that will change our lives or that will boost the acting career of Dave Bautista, but Nobody becomes bitter by a candy.
