Although we had a handful of special episodes in 2021, it’s been almost five years since the first season of ‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’. Chise’s story still has a lot to give, and although there were those who considered the anime canceled, a few months ago we were surprised that there were new chapters underway and that they will arrive this spring.
New study, and new stage
‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ is another anime that has escaped from the hands of Wit Studio and in this case has gone to those of Studio Kafka, who already have experience with the series because they took over the recent OVAs. And with what has been seen so far, it seems that the style has been well maintained compared to the previous season.
The first trailer brings us back to Chise and Elias, and also introduces us to a bunch of new characters for this new stage in the story. Is new season will adapt the ‘Arc of the University‘ from Kore Yamazaki’s manga, in which both attend a specialized school to improve their magical skills and knowledge.
crunchyroll will broadcast the series in simulcast, which starts next 6 of April within the anime spring season. A first poster has also been shared that puts a lot of emphasis on this change of scenery (with school uniforms included) and gives us a better look at the new characters.

Atsumi Tanezaki and Ryota Takeuchi are returning as Chise and Elias Ainsworth, respectively, and Minami Tsuda as Lucy Webster, Maki Kawase as Philomela Sergeant, Seiichiro Yamashita as Rian Scrimgeour, Daiki Kobayashi as Zoe Ivy, Reina Ueda as Veronica Rickenbacker, and Kotaro Nishiyama as Kotaro Nishiyama have also been confirmed.
