Looked like yesterday when we began to see the misfortunes of Offred and five years have passed in which we have suffered with the character played by Elisabeth Moss. This past Wednesday season 5 of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ has ended and now we have a break until we know what June and company will hold after the end.
And it is that We already have one last season (the sixth) of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ where we see the end (or at least in a certain sense, that Bruce Miller is somewhat ambiguous) of the story. Some episodes that we will see soon and of which we are going to review everything we know.
The history
The last time we saw June was on board a train, fleeing Canada due to insecurity that there is in the country that seems increasingly akin to Gilead or, at least, less tolerant of refugees. On the train he meets Serena, so he sets out on a joint odyssey to an unknown destination (the idea is Hawaii).

As the train departs we witness a triple arrest: that of Lukeafter beating the man who ran over his wife; Nick’safter bashing Commander Lawrence by blaming him for the attack on June; and Janine’s that, although at first it could be thought that it is because of his confrontation with Naomi, we discover that he shares a truck with the Martha who gave him information about June.
With this panorama season 6 must solve all these situations in what seems like quite different episodes what we are used to. Bruce Miller insists in interviews given, for example on Deadline, that we have to remember that the series is called ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and, therefore, the center will be June at all times.
The cast
Unlike this fifth season in which we have seen a couple of important casualties, for now it seems that the main cast of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ will remain intact. Thus we can take for sure the presence of Elisabeth Moss, Bradley Whitford, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, OT Fagbenle, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, and Sam Jaeger.
However, judging by events, we do not know to what extent to ensure the presence of the people of Toronto, as samira wley (mory) or amanda brugel (Rita). On Gilead’s part, we cannot rule out the presence of Ever Carradine, McKena Grace, Carey Cox, Jason Butler Harner, Amy Landecker, and Jordana Blake.
The filming
Filming for the final season of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ has yet to begin. Or, at least, the production by MGM Television, producer of the series, has not yet been announced.
Bruce Miller remains at the forefront of fiction as showrunner and head writer. Additionally Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, Eric Tuchman, Yahlin Chang, Rachel Shukert, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Steve Stark and Kim Todd are producing.
the release date
Already you know that this will depend on the shooting datese but normally and except for the COVID time, the series has gone season by year. Therefore, we cannot rule out that we will see the end of the journey in the last months of 2023.
Except for major changes, we can see the new season on HBO Max.
