The next stop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after ‘Moon Knight’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is ‘Ms Marvel‘, the series that presents the company’s first superheroine of Pakistani origin in society.
So, as we await her arrival, let’s review everything we know about ‘Ms. Marvel’.
The history
As usual in Marvel series, We know few plot details of what we are going to find in ‘Ms. Marvel’. However, the official synopsis of it gives us a rough idea:
Kamala Khan is an American Muslim teenager living in Jersey City. Kamala is a gamer total and also writes fan-fiction. She is also a mega fan of Superheroes and she has a huge imagination, especially when it comes to Captain Marvel. But she, Kamala, feels invisible both at home and at school…until she discovers that she has superpowers like those heroes she has always admired. Life is better with superpowers, there is no doubt about that.
Thus we will have a series of youth/adolescent vocation (hopefully a ‘I never’) with the classic humor already characteristic of Marvel Studio productions. In any case, we will have to be attentive to its development because it will connect with the next ‘The Marvels’, the sequel to ‘Captain Marvel’.
The differences with the comic
Although the basis of the character (a Muslim teenager who loves superheroes and Captain Marvel in particular) remains, yes it is appreciated that the origin and powers of this Ms. Marvel differs much like the character designed by Sana Amanat, G. Willow Wilson, and Adrian Alphona.
In the comics, when the earth mists are released as a result of ‘Infinity’ and the subsequent ‘Inhumanity’ mini-event. Kamala Khan is seen covered and emerging from a chrysalis by awakening his inhuman genes. Meanwhile, in the series she apparently receives her powers with what appear to be deniers.
These give him some cosmic powersunlike what happens in the comics, where his powers are more physical: size and shape alteration, morphogenesis, elasticity, etc.
