Don Ramón was, is and will be one of the most beloved characters of the popular and unforgettable children’s program “The guy from 8”, of which more than 50 years have passed since its premiere. The antics of the children and adults of La Vecindad created by Chespirito will remain in the memory and hearts of all his fans forever. But, in the case of Don Ramón, his kindness and sympathy when the cameras went off have made him a more than loved character, even today, almost 40 years after the death of the actor who gave him life, Ramón Valdés.
Among the main characteristic features of Don Ramón in “The guy from 8”several stand out: his attempts to escape so as not to have to pay the rent, his reluctance and predisposition to go out to work and his passion for soccer (although he was a supporter of Necaxa, he did not mind “going with Monterrey” with such that Mr. Barriga did not collect the rent.
However, the most loved -and most mistreated- neighbor of La Vecindad del “Chavo del 8” He had another sport that he was passionate about and that he even got to practice. And we remember it in this note, along with one of Don Ramón’s most memorable moments on the program.
The favorite sport that Don Ramón practiced, which is not football
In one of the many and unmissable episodes of “The guy from 8”, Don Ramón tells Chavo that, in his youth, he was a boxer. And, having got some gloves, he even sets out to teach the boy to box. Of course, as expected, things do not go as planned. Although what is not lacking are blows.
In the same way that during several episodes Don Ramón teaches Chavo to bowl or play the guitar, on one occasion he teaches him to box. And he even remembers that in his youth he became a champion! After reviewing old photographs and in which he is seen boxing in the ring, Don Ramón teaches him some blows to the Chavo del 8.

But Professor Jirafales, angry that Chilindrina’s father had taught such a violent sport, ends up challenging him to a fight in the courtyard of La Vecindad. And it all ends up out of sorts, like it used to in episodes of “The guy from 8”.
