They say that cats are not as affectionate and cuddly as dogs. Each one has its own personality and we love them in all their versions, but a study has shown that the link with our kitties also has to be worked on and they tell us exactly how to get it.
The conclusion of this investigation is that, no matter how surly the michi comes out, the relationship between him and his owner is closer if there is a game involved. Using cat toys and having fun makes cats healthier, “from their physical state and the quality of their environment, as well as the resources available to them, to their mental state and their social relationships.”
Another conclusion of this study is that house cats have a better quality of life and a better relationship with their owners than those who spend the day away from home. Although in Spain it is no longer legal for your cat to be in the patio or balcony, the truth is that many owners give them complete freedom to come and go and end up not building an affective bond with them.
The truth is that getting your cat to be affectionate and look for pampering is ideal when it comes to living together, especially if we are looking for a cat with children. Otherwise the cats will seek to attract attention with destructive behaviors, like cats scratching the sofa. This is confirmed by this research, in case we need more excuses to play with our fur babies.
