To commemorate May the Fourth, the Day of starwarsDisney wanted to pamper fans of the saga in a big way, releasing a second trailer for the upcoming and long-awaited series Obi-Wan Kenobistarring Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master.
The slogan of the commemoration of starwars is a play on words that unites the date with one of the classic phrases of the saga: “May the force be with you” (May the 4th be with you). Like the first trailer, the second trailer is riddled with details characteristic of star wars: lightsabers, impressive spaceships, inhabitants of the Tatooine desert, among others.
However, as expected on the Day of starwarsDisney made sure that the Force was with us, literally!, because the new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi offers a better look at the main characters. But that’s not all, as it also doubles down on the threats we expected Kenobi to face in the six episodes of the series.
Taking up Kenobi’s story, ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Siththe second trailer gives us more looks from the evil inquisitors and shows us a little more of the return of Hayden Christensen’s ruthless Darth Vader.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy promised the “rematch of the century” and this new trailer, showcasing Darth Vader’s iconic suit and chilling breathing, has us even more excited to see the moment Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker come face to face.
In addition to the second trailer, Disney also released a new promotional poster for the spin-off series. starwarswhich shows the exiled Jedi Master, looking noticeably worried as the Dark Side of the Force draws ever closer.
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres May 27 on Disney+.
