Up, a high adventure It is one of the films that marked an entire generation, not only for its characters and animation, but also for the beautiful love story between Carl and his wife Ellie. Now Disney and Pixar are bringing these characters back in an animated short that will tug at your heartstrings.
Dug Days: Carl’s Date is the animation that will show Carl Fredricksen on his first date after the death of his beloved wife, which will be a difficult task to achieve.
The special thing about this short is that everything will be shown from the point of view of Dug, the puppy who became Carl’s life partner and who will have the task of advising, calming and supporting his owner in his new adventure.
The story will move you even more when you learn that this was the last work of Ed Asner, original voice actor for Carl Fredricksen, who sadly passed away in August 2021.
Dug Days: Carl’s Date opens this February 10 through the Disney+ platform and promises to be a success by showing a story with hints of humor, sentimentality, friendship and a lot of love, or at least that’s what its synopsis reveals.
Carl Fredricksen reluctantly agrees to go on a date with a friend, but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date nerves and offers some tried-and-true tips for making friends, if you’re a dog.
