A few days ago the manager Martin Scorsese presented his new film at the Cannes Film Festival “Killers of the flower moon”, but now he has announced his next project; a tape about the life of Jesus, after meeting the Pope Francisco during a brief private audience at the Vatican.
Scorsese made the above known after attending a conference organized by the georgetown university and the magazine The Catholic Civilta: “I have responded to the Pope’s call to artists in the only way I know how to do it: by imagining and writing a script for a film about Jesus. And I’m about to start doing it.” In his extensive filmography, the director has the films “Silence” (from 2016, on Jesuit priests in Japan) and the controversy “The Last Temptation of Christ”from 1988 and based on the novel by Nikos Kazantzakis.
As to “Killers of the flower moon”is a film starring Leonardo Dicaprio and robert deniro which deals with a series of murders committed in Oklahoma and the investigation to find the culprits. The film was well received at Cannes but will be released commercially in the United States until October 20, so it could appear in the next awards season.
