After experiencing the hell that being a victim of alcoholism represents, Diana Golden revealed thatwith the aim of putting an end to a problem that had gotten out of control, a chip was implanted in the lower part of his arm.
And it is that since 2006, when the actress of Colombian origin faced the death of her mother, took refuge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, which later increased due to the death of one of his brothers and even that of his father.
“That’s where my depression started. The emptiness that I had of life I filled with alcohol”, recently pointed out in an interview with the Telemundo network.
The most difficult thing for the ex-wife of also actor Alfredo Adame was facing the isolation generated by the coronavirus pandemic, since He admits that he ended up being a victim of daily alcohol consumption.
“The white wine was already daily, not from getting drunk, but from two or three drinks quietly watching television”, he recalled.
So the 57-year-old actress had to go to a clinic headquartered in Torreón, Coahuila, where they made a small cut on his left arm to implant a chip that permanently releases naltrexone, medication used to combat addictions.
“The treatment requires a therapy, because one must also do their part, really want to rehabilitate. The gadget reduces anxiety and desire, but it also depends on one to stop drinking. At first I got anxious, which is normal,” he acknowledged.
In this regard, Omar Villareal, a doctor specializing in addictions and who placed the implant in Diana Golden, mentions that the device, by emitting naltrexone, cancels the neurotransmitters related to anxiety from intoxicating drinks.
“Naltrexone helps control the urge to consume alcohol,” he said.
It should be noted that other celebrities such as singers Pablo Montero and Claudio Yarto have adopted this device as an ally to get away from alcohol.
Diana Golden even revealed that by quitting alcohol she even put an end to her stomach bloating.
“I was always sick with colitis and a bloated stomach, but now all that has disappeared,” she mentioned.
