Are you sure Joker was the one who gave Harley Quinn her villain name? One of the first series of the villain in comics will show us the historical lie
For three decades we have known Harley Quinn, one of the favorite villains of the DC Universe, who made the leap from animated series to comics and movies, and we have assumed that Joker was the one who gave his name to the villain We are in a big mistake!
Do not miss: Is Harley Quinn more dangerous than the Joker?
Yes! We all remember that from his days on Batman: The Animated Series. We think Joker was (correction was!) the one who gave his villain name to psychiatrist Harleen Quinzel, who in treating the clown prince of crime thought he would change it.
And this dates from Harley Quinn #5 (April 2001), in a story written by Karl Kesel and Terry Dodson, where an FBI agent is on the trail of Harley, after the attack on the owner of an amusement park.
This agent obtains the tapes of the Arkham Asylum where Quinzel had his first job as a psychiatrist, and these films were shown to his colleagues at the FBI headquarters in Gotham.
joker had nothing to do
Harley begins to treat Joker, who is quiet on the first dates, so the psychiatrist suggests to the Joker what he can call her to gain confidence.
Quinzel mentions to Joker that he can call her Harley Quinn, referring to those in charge of making the royal courts laugh, something that pleases the villain.
From that moment Harleen Quinzel began to call herself Harley Quinn, but she did not expect that she would fall in love with her patient, to the point of losing her mind.
Joker influenced the way the psychiatrist lost her sanity and dedicated her life to crime, but Harley Quinn sealed her fate by unwittingly finding her villain name.
