When Marvel announced that, finally, Daredevil came home (with a cameo in ‘Spiderman: No way home’ included), it was all congratulations, praise and idolatry towards Charlie Cox and the team that made the first three seasons of the series on Netflix. But with every news about ‘Daredevil: born again’, beyond that title that means everything to comics, the spirits are deflating a little more.
I see no reason to protest!
The series will have 18 episodes and a more familiar tone than in those of the Marvel-Netflix universe, something that has already lowered the expectations of many. But also, if we expected to see continuous action, it seems that this will not be the case either: in an interview with GQ, Cox has claimed there will be a lot of legal dramasomething that, to be honest, was missing from the original three seasons.
I think that since they have agreed on so many episodes, there will be a big influence on legal issues: Matt Murdock, the lawyer in the new series. I am focused on looking for information on that area of the character and his life. It was one of the areas that we didn’t explore much before. Even my accent is probably rusty.
In the comics there are very epic moments of lawyer Murdock, but after the negative precedent that ‘She-Hulk: She-Hulk lawyer’ set for many, there are fans who fear the worst. At the moment, Charlie Cox is preparing to return to do the Little Horns reading all the comics again, like it was the first time. The shooting date will be around March, so all eyes are on Disney+.
