In a dynamic organized by Vanity Fair, where Danny DeVito and his daughter Lucy were subjected to the polygraph test, the actor was asked about Colin Farrell’s performance in The Batman and this he answered, with his characteristic good humor.
“I love Colin, he’s a fantastic guy. (but) My Penguin was betterDeVitto responded with a laugh. “It is my opinion. However, he is a good man. Colin is a good guy“.
Months ago, DeVitto noted that while Batman Returns is his favorite Batman movie, he found Matt Reeves’ take on it extraordinary and praised Farrell’s work.
“In terms of performances, Colin, who is a good friend of mine, I think he did a great job on that. Hats off to anyone who sits in the makeup chair that long. I did it with The Penguin and I loved it”.
DeVito admired Farrell’s work
DeVito pointed out that the environment that Matt Reeves built in the film was one of the great keys for Colin Farrell to achieve a great performance.
“Certainly, (The Batman has) a different setting. I think he was a more edgy, serious, gangster Batman. Of course there are three Italians who are bad at it”.
The Batman will star Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, and John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone.
Jeffrey Wright will also star as Police Commissioner James Gordon, while Andy Serkis will play Alfred Pennyworth.
