The Coque de Madrid restaurant, which has two Michelin stars, and is located on Calle de Marqués de Riscal in the Spanish capital. This robbery occurred after accessing a nearby pharmacy that was closed, through which the thieves were able to reach the cellar from where they took 132 bottles of wine, whose value exceeds 200 thousand euros.
The National Police of Spain is already following the details of this robbery and it is believed that it was a commission, since the bottles that were stolen are among the most expensive and it was the only thing that was stolen.
Rafael Sandoval, brother and partner of Mario Sandoval, explained on the “Espejo Público” program on Antenna 3 that the assailants tried to enter through a hole in an adjoining premises, however, “unable to do so, they went down a patio” that shares the restaurant with the pharmacy and that is how, after breaking a glass, they were able to enter the cellar.
The robbery occurred last Sunday, which was taken advantage of by the thieves since the restaurant was closed that day and on Monday. It was only on Tuesday that the owners of Coque became aware of the theft and filed a complaint.
