The paintings represent the flower garden of the painter’s house in Giverny and were the main focus of his artistic production in the last thirty years of his life. Many of the works were painted while Monet was suffering from cataracts.
Although it is not the first time that Monet’s works have been exhibited at the MUNAL, since between October 2012 and January 2013, the exhibition “Pleasure and Order” was held, which brought together works by the greatest masters of the 19th century.
Pieces by Renoir, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec and Monet, among others, were shown in the exhibition, all on loan from the Musée de Orsay, a renowned museum in Paris that houses paintings by important impressionist artists.
Until now there is not much information on how, when and how long Claude Monet will be in Mexico City. The museum’s social networks will give details shortly.
