Coldplay has just postponed all the concerts it had scheduled in Brazil, this after Chris Martin, leader and vocalist of the band, presented a “severe lung infection”.
The news was confirmed by the group, through a statement on Instagram, which reads that Chris received “strict medical rest orders for the next three weeks.”
Coldplay would start their tour on October 11 at the Nilton Santos Engenhão Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Later, the group would go to Sao Paulo, where they would make six presentations at the Allianz Parque.
For everyone in Brazil who was looking forward to these concerts, we are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience. We are so grateful for his understanding at this difficult time when we must prioritize Chris’s health.
Save your tickets as they will be valid for the new rescheduled dates. This will happen in early 2023 and will be announced very soon. However, we will also honor all ticket refund requests, which will be available at the point of sale.
We are optimistic that Chris will return to good health after the prescribed medical break. Also, we hope to resume the tour as soon as possible. To all those affected, please accept our sincerest apologies and, as always, thank you for your love and support.
At the moment there are no further details about the singer’s health, but he seems to be stable. Meanwhile, the group’s followers send their best wishes to him and hope for a speedy recovery so that Chris, the rest of the group and his work team in general will soon return to the stage.
