After learning that he is at high risk of suffering from Alzheimer’s in the future, the famous Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as “Thor” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would be slowing down his careeras revealed by sources close to the star to Six Page.
Although the Hollywood actor has stated that he has no plans to retire immediately, sources suggest that his work schedule is starting to become less hectic in the near future. “He doesn’t plan on taking on many roles because of Alzheimer’s”they told the media specialized in celebrities.
Hemsworth has four projects in the pipeline, two already completed and two still to be filmed, including the long-awaited sequel to “Avengers: Secret Wars” and an as-yet-untitled biopic of wrestler Hulk Hogan. On June 16, he will be seen as Tyler Rake Lives in the Netflix movie ‘Extraction 2’.
The actor discovered his high risk for the neurodegenerative disease a few months ago while filming his documentary series ‘Limitless’ for National Geographic and Disney+. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hemsworth shared what it was like when he found out his genetic results and revealed that his grandfather had also been diagnosed with the disease.
“Petter Attia, the doctor who oversees a lot of the show, called[show creator]Darren Aronofsky and said, ‘I don’t want to say this on camera, but we need to have a conversation about whether you want this to air.’ It was pretty shocking,” he commented.
Although the actor is eight to ten times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s, he decided not to manipulate the results for the show. and hopes that his experience can inspire others to take better care of themselves and take preventive measures.
While Hemsworth wouldn’t be looking to retire permanently, he would be taking a lot more time to enjoy himself with his family. The famous also confessed in an interview with Good Morning America that his biggest fear is not being able to remember his life, his wife or his children if he were to suffer from the disease.
With his career still in full swing, it’s understandable that the actor is carefully weighing his options and considering his future.
