The Puerto Rican singer Elmer Figueroa Arce, known popularly and worldwide as Chayanne (54), is one of those artists who seem to be eternal. Not only because they manage to stay at the top of the scene regardless of the passing of the years, but also because -in addition- he never stops being active and with the same sympathy, charisma and talent as always.
A few weeks ago, Chayanne He was one of the leading guests at his niece’s wedding, Lele Pons, to the point that he waltzed with her and, as could be seen in videos, he danced to the rhythm and following the steps of “Tiempo de Vals”, a piece musical performed by himself. Even images of him singing and dancing to another of his hits, “Torero”, on the track also went viral!
However, it was not always music that passionated Chayanne. In fact, as a young man he had intentions of dedicating himself to a popular sport, although he abandoned his practice (at least professionally).
The sport that Chayanne was going to dedicate himself to before turning to music
No one would even dare to doubt that Chayanne He is one of the great Latin artists of recent years. His hymns, which range from romantic ballads to catchy songs that spread the festive atmosphere, have not stopped ringing throughout the Latin world. And his creations continue to move as from the first day.
However, a publication he made on his own Instagram account reveals that the main passion of Chayanne when I was young it was basketball. The “Salomé” singer shared 3 photos in which he is seen practicing this sport professionally.
“This #TBT in my beautiful Puerto Rico doing one of the things I love” he wrote Chayanneas part of this trend in the networks to share old photographs every Thursday (that is the translation of the TBT concept into Spanish).
In the photographs you can see Chayanne skillfully handling the ball and even attempting a dunk over one of the hoops. And, of course, the post aroused all kinds of comments and compliments towards the singer. There were even several -and several- the fans who recognized that they also love basketball.
