His daughter Sharinna told him that, like all celebrities, he should leave his legacy in writingAnd he did. Charytin Goyco wrote ‘Time Passes… But I Don’t!’… A book you often thought of give up, give up because both the happy moments and the bitter ones hurt him to remember.
In a very Chary-style talk, the beloved star talked about everything: triumph, feeling like a strange girl, the premonitions she doesn’t want to feel, her father’s violence problem and up to 2 months without having sex with her husband, Don Elín Ortiz, when she got married, because of Corín Tellado’s pink stories!
-Did you imagine the day you decided to write the book that was going to bring you so many emotions?
Charytin Goyco: Maybe I thought so, but briefly… I made the book without expecting what was going to happen, for me it was hard to do it and like sometimes, when you do something that gives you so much work, as far as emotion is concerned, you don’t know what’s going to happen, you don’t think about it, but really I am happy that I did it, I feel very happy that I made my bookand I’m kind of proud that I was able to finish it. There were parts that said: “I’m not going to finish, I’m going to throw in the towel, I’m not going to do it, I can’t follow it” … And yet, I did it totally.
-It has very funny parts and very difficult parts and others that we didn’t know about you, your dad’s problems, what you made Don Eylin wait to consummate the marriage, which were the most difficult to write?
Charytin Goyco: When you are remembering your story, even the good parts are difficult, even the beautiful things give you a pain of emotion. You mentioned the me part as a child, a strange childhood, I grew up in a country that was not mine (Spain)I grew up in my mother’s country, but believing that I was from there, they are like things that happen, that one says: “My God, soap operas happen but they happen in real life”…
-If I say ‘Madrid’, what does it mean to you?
Charytin Goyco: My first city, my first place of life…, and that man also to top it off, not only my childhood, but also when I went to make my album and it was the first kiss.
-If I say ‘liquor’, where does it take you?
Charytin Goyco: Liquor is, as they say, something nice, but something bad in the case of my family, for me my father, he was a wonderful man and when he had a drink he was another person, completely different, a violent man. There are human beings that make them violent, they are other human beings, it has nothing to do with what you know. There was a time in my life that liquor was like a terrible thing, because it wreaked havoc on my family.and I realized that not everyone reacts like that, every moderate person can have a little drink in life, but it affected him a lot, and our lives too.
-If I tell you, ‘Corin Tellado’?
Charytin Goyco: Corín Tellado, the Spanish writer, writes in Vanidades, which was my favorite magazine back then as a girl, as a young lady… The first night that you were with a man was like a wonderful thing, sublime trumpets soundedheavenly trumpets and I said: “But I am going to kill this woman, because the first night with a man I did not hear any trumpet, nor did I hear anything”… I wanted to kill her because things were not as she said. She couldn’t fool us that much.
-It took you a month and a half, two to consummate your marriage.
Charytin Goyco: Almost 2 months, yes, I also brought my childhood trauma. One thinks not, but we always have things left. In difficult childhoods, we human beings have things, and with someone, just like him who could achieve everythingImagine a man my age.
-The arrival of the children?
Charytin Goyco: I loved having so many children, I thank life, I thank God, because andor dreamed of many children. I remember my album in Japan, they were before Madonna, the image was already there, the thing, and I stopped everything when those twins got pregnant everything stopped but i was really happy about it i didn’t care i never cared about any of itbecause I needed to have a family and I managed to have them, my 3 children.
Look how many years apart they were, because it was that he did not agree with her having more children, he with Shalim was enough, and after the years he lost his daughtersmy husband, told me: “Look, we are going to treat another child”, he never thought that 2 would arrive. God is very great, just in case he sent us with 2.
-You speak of the loss of Elín’s daughters, something that you tell in the book that you knew before, how have the premotions been in your life?
Charytín Goyco: I came to recognize him when he was 8 years old more or less… I realized that, that power, but I really I was always afraid, I always asked God not to give me that gift. She was a girl, people said: “They are gifts, your aunt also has them”. They are not gifts, for me they were situations of problemsbecause everything spiritual for me could not live the natural, that is not from our plane and I did not see it natural, I suffered a lot, I have suffered a lot in life for that, my whole life.
–And does it keep happening to you?
Charytin Goyco: I have prayed to God and I try not to, but not as much as before, thank God. For example, I have never had a manifestation of my husband, he knows that I can never have it, because he knew who I was and how I suffered for itthen I ask God that I remain calm with that at this time.
-In your book you talk about listening to the voice of God, who even saved you from dying, or from being abused.
Charytin Goyco: Yes, because I was a very small girl when I was going through the mountains, and I said my God, until that mishap happened to me when I saw those men and the voice told me: “Climb on the tree”… And since that has happened to me many times, that voice of God that we all receiveWhat happens is that in the noise you cannot receive that voice, you have to have a bit of silence to listen to the voice of God, which is your inner voice, there is God within us.
The kingdom of God is within us as Jesus says, even the Buddha tells you: “God is within you”. Many religions agree that the truth is really within us, the real truth and that is where the voice of God is, within us. When you make a silence, some meditations, your silences, you can hear what he is saying to you, it is something impressive, impressive.
-When you finish the book and finally have it in your hands, what did you feel?
Charytin Goyco: I was happy that I made it, because in many moments I thought that I was not going to follow it, but I did it, see finished. My daughter told me: “Mom, great figures in the world, I have read hundreds of biographies and their lives are more terrible than yours, and one sees them as teachings and like what so-and-so lived, and we never leave an artist, on the contrary, we see the circumstances they lived, you must leave your legacy“…And for me, I felt happy that I did.
-We saw you on ‘Despierta América’ with your colleagues from ‘Escándalo TV’, you talk about them in your book, how was this reunion for you?
Charytin Goyco: It was very nice because they were too many years together, we spent almost 11 years of our livesmany hours every day, this was not 2 or 3 hours a day, it was more or less 9 and 10 hours a day with them for 11 years. They were really part of the family, with Tanya, with Felipe, with many I maintain a lot of communication, but It gave me a lot of emotion to see them because those things that they told me they already mentioned to me, they joked with me a lotso much that we learn with you, it was because life experience is not improvised, and they really did not see a person from that time.
-You are always synonymous with a cheerful, fun person, but those who know you closely speak of a generous person. What do you feel when those around you describe you as a generous woman?
Charytin Goyco: They will refer to me I always give them their time, anything they want me to tell them, message, advice, whatever, I always have and I will. You can count on my time, now and before, so that’s what I always want to leave in people’s memories.
-Your daughter spoke to you about the legacy, what do you want this book to mean for generations, and future generations when they find it?
Charytin Goyco: What I want is that chen you have thousands of problems in your life, know that you have to keep crossing obstacles and that you have to keep going if you want to cross the finish line. All lives have obstacles and problems, situations, sorrows and joys, and because of something that happened to you, you cannot stop reaching your dream, as I did, you have to continue until the end, nothing can stop you on the way to achieve what you want. you dream to be, that’s what my book has.
