The first season of ‘Star Wars: Visions’ was a very ambitious project as it completely deviated from the canon we had known up to now and unleashed various teams of anime creators to develop stories to their liking inspired by George Lucas universe.
We already knew that the second season of the anthology was underway, but this time it seems that we’ve strayed a bit from anime ground to bet on creators from all over the world.
Nine more shorts with a lot of international flavor
The second season of ‘Star Wars: Visions’ lands directly on Disney+ next May 4th, just in time to celebrate Star Wars Day. Like the first volume of the anthology, we will also have nine shorts on the list.
The biggest change comes because we detached ourselves from the anime studios and ‘Star Wars: Visions’ has opted for international creators. The list of all the shorts and their managers has already been revealed, which remains like this:
- ‘Screecher’s Reach’ by Paul Young with Cartoon Saloon
- ‘Sith’, by Rodrigo Blaas with El Guiri Studios (Spain)
- ‘The Bandits of Golak’ by Ishan Shukla with 88 Pictures (India)
- ‘In the Stars’ by Gabriel Osorio with Punk Robot Studio (Chili)
- ‘The Pit’ by LeAndre Thomas with D’ART Shtajio (Japan) and Lucasfilm Ltd. (USA)
- ‘The Spy Dancer’ by Julien Chleng with Studio La Cachette (France)
- ‘Aau’s Song’ by Nadia Darries and Daniel Clarkle featuring triggerfish (South Africa)
- ‘Journey to the Dark Head’ by Hyeong Geun Park with Studio Mir (South Korea)
- ‘I Am Your Mother) by Magdalena Osinska with Aardman Animations (United Kingdom)
On the list we have several very big fish like Studio Mir, in charge of ‘The Legend of Korra’ and ‘Lookism’, Arman Animationsthe studio that brought us ‘Wallace and Gromit’ and ‘Chicken Run’, and also Cartoon Saloonresponsible for ‘Wolfwalkers’ and ‘The Secret of the Book of Kells’.

We also have the Spanish studio for the first time on the list El Guiri Studios with Rodrigo Blaas as director. Blaas has a long career in the world of animation and in 2010 he was nominated for a Goya with his short film ‘Alma’. He has worked at DreamWorks, Pixar and as of 2016 served as director, writer and executive producer on ‘Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia’ and its sequels.
