At the Museo Jumex in Plaza Carso in the Mexican capital, a series of jewels belonging to the private collections and archives of this French jewelery house will be presented, you will find out about the evolution of its design and you will have a tour of the characters that have marked its history. history as the diva of Mexican cinema: María Félix.
For this curatorship of “The Design of Cartier: A Living Legacy” the trial of Ana Elena Mallet was held, the museography was carried out by the architect Frida Escobedo, and it presents five thematic sections: The first years and the birth of a style, Universal Curiosity , The taste of Jeanne Toussaint , Measuring time and wearing beauty; and María Félix and the icons of elegance.
Among the pieces of jewelry by María Félix that are part of this compilation is the famous crocodile necklace, made up of two pieces that function as separate brooches, made of gold, with 1,023 diamond inlays, 1,060 emeralds, two cabochons emerald and two ruby.
Next to this will be the snake necklace, which was made in 1968 at the diva’s request, has 2,473 diamonds that required thousands of hours of work, according to the house.
