In life and style We spoke with the 36-year-old artist to learn more about this release, which is already available in physical format and through music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
“It’s a very important album for me, especially as a songwriter because all the songs were written by me; They are songs that I wrote several years ago, but I had not recorded them and now they found their moment. And it is not only now where I am honest, perhaps now is where I talk the most about topics that I would not have done otherwise, ”said the artist.
Although it is not the first album in which the Mexican opens up to his fans about his personal life, he does do so in a completely different way by including his emotions, as is the case with the song that bears the same name “Sincerándome”, which It served as an outlet for him to tell how he felt at one point in his life.
“It’s a very personal songIt is an outlet and speaks of something that I was feeling at a time when perhaps in the eyes of many people I had everything: concerts, interviews, calls, projects, etc., and that began to overwhelm me to the point of exhaustion. physical and mental. That’s where this song comes in.”
There are days that it costs to be that “it looks good”
“There are days that it costs to be that ‘it looks good‘ and that’s what the song talks about, with it I felt relief and thought: ‘ok, I already said it’”, he says.
with dedications
Carlos told life and style that songs that include his new album such as “Eres Tú – Mamá” and “Mi niña linda” are dedicated especially to his mother and sister respectively. “They are songs that one way or another would not have found a place on an album of mine.”
Even the subject “La carta” is literally a letter that he wrote to his now wife Cinthya Rodríguez.
It is an album that is not thinking, it is only felt
“Over the years I realized that the songs that most connected with my audience were those that were so particular to me. In my past albums I always put in one or two, but now I said ‘why don’t we do one with all of them?’ It’s just an album that’s not thinking, it’s just felt,” she adds.
The challenge in the industry
Although currently the music industry has focused on particular and commercial genres, for example reggaeton, Carlos points out that he continues to have the support of the people to continue making the music that has characterized him throughout his career.
“I know that there are people who always want to discover these types of songs and I see it in my concerts (…) I continue to have the gigantic support of an audience that wants to come and listen to these songs. That’s why I still dare to make albums like this, and from the outset to make albums when no one makes them anymore, they’re all simple”.
The Mexican singer also pointed out that As a composer, one of his main challenges was to convince the industry. “It was hard for me to convince, because I’m not the typical composer who has his guitar and piano and who plays his songs everywhere, I write all the songs singing.”
He even recounted that when he began his career, no one bet on the songs he had written. “What’s more, I had to omit saying that the songs were mine when choosing them for the album, and after they were chosen, I realized that more than half were, and when I told them they couldn’t believe it” .
“Sincerándome” is the eighth album by Carlos Rivera, the most personal to be written by him from start to finish. “This album is not about a biography that people are going to listen to just to find out about me, it is about finding in these songs the lyrics that identify them and feeling the same effect they had on me when I wrote them”, he concludes.
