boxing legend Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez continues to diversify with new projects and in the last one promises show your life like never before through an animated series for adults only, in collaboration with the production houses Cartuna and Campanario Entertainment.
‘Canelo’ Álvarez himself, who will make his debut in the movie ‘Creed 3’ in 2023. he told Variety magazine that he feels “very excited” of being able to tell his story through this new project that will follow his journey to the top of boxing, and at the same time he hopes that it will add new followers to the magic of this sport.
Executive producer and writer of this animated series is Erick Galindo, who has worked on productions such as ‘The Ballad of Chalino Sanchez’ and ‘Out of The Shadows: Children of 86’, and James Belfer, Adam Belfer and Mike Flavin, from the company Cartuna will also be executive producers along with Jaime Dávila and Rico Martínez from Campanario Entertainment.
Regarding this project, Jaime Dávila commented: “Telling Latino stories that resonate with global audiences has always been at the core of Campanario’s goals. Having the opportunity to tell the story of ‘Canelo’ Álvarez with the help of Erick Galindo, another one-of-a-kind and highly esteemed Mexican writer, is an incredible honor for us. Latino stories deserve to be told in all formats, and we look forward to creating a vibrant animated world with our partners at Cartuna.”
The series, which does not yet have a name, is in the development stages and is expected to hit social networks and streaming companies later this year.
