Cancun FC has created a jersey that celebrates the Mayan culture and the identity of the region, which is supported by the Nike brand. Leo Tezcucano is a Mexican plastic artist, graphic designer, photographer, muralist and tattoo artist who lives in Cancun and is the one who created the conceptual design of the team’s skin.
“This shirt was presented in Milan as part of its launch. For this season it is clean, we only have the name of one of the sponsors on the back, so our jersey respects the identity and concept we have for the institution”, Solazzi added.
Although for this moment Cancún FC remains in the second division, they are working to prepare all the technical and certification conditions to be ready and be able to be in the Expansion League during promotion and eventually seek a place in the MX League.
“We renovated the Andrés Quintana Roo Stadium, which was in a lamentable state. It is investing heavily in basic forces, because we really want to carry out an innovative and long-term project for sports in Mexico,” he said.
Given this offer that the club makes to create an identity from the beginning, it has given it tools so that it is not a previous brand that sets the tone. “We love seeing those traditional fans like América, Chivas, Rayados, Tigres, for now we are beginning to relate to the new generations because the city is very young. Now we are joining civil associations because a club has to to be transformative and builder of relationships”, added the manager.

The learning and growth phase is taking place like all new sports institutions, however, they have been attracting friendly games with great teams such as Cruz Azul, América and Rayados so that the fans can relate to the team and the new fans quintanaroenses.
The renovated Andrés Quintana Roo Stadium is offering boxes at field level so that visitors can enjoy the match with a different experience and approach another part of the city with a sports focus.

“We have 20 boxes for Mexican tourist experiences in the stadium for both tourists and locals,” said Solazzi.
Cancun is preparing everything to have the ball in its court and make the Mexican Caribbean a destination with a leisure and sports offer beyond the beauty of its coast and the exuberant jungles, embracing the legacy of the Mayan culture and the residents of this thriving city.
