In addition to showing her childhood and her personal and public life, the director created a space for Brooke to speak from her adult perspective and share her intelligence, vulnerability and humanity as she reflects on her professional career and life, including her complex relationship with her mother, her marriage, and her own battles with motherhood.
In this documentary, the protagonist of The blue Lagoon revealed that he was a victim of sexual abuse in 1987, when he was 22 years old and had just graduated from Princeton University. Brooke had arranged a work appointment with a man older than her, in which they would discuss a leading role in a new film, but at the end, he took her to his hotel room on the pretext that he would ask her for a taxi from there to go. to take her home.
He said ‘Go back to the hotel and I’ll call a taxi’ and I went up to the hotel room and he disappeared for a while, I got some binoculars to distract myself, the door opened and this man came out naked, I put the binoculars down and he was right over Like in wrestling, I was afraid that he would hang me or something, I didn’t know.

This traumatic experience is just one of many that appear in the documentary. Ella Brooke expressed that it took her many years of therapy to overcome this, as well as to accept that it had been a rape, since for a long time she felt guilty for the attack she suffered.
