An accident can change our lives in a second. As happened to Ignacio, a young Argentine who had an accident while riding his motorcycle. Unfortunately, he suffered serious injuries that left him with a diagnosis of quadriplegia.
But his parents, José and Cintia, did not give up, so José decided to raffle off the family home to obtain financial resources and pay for a treatment that would give his son hope for a better quality of life.
In an interview for the Argentine news Noon News from the Eltrece chain, the medium in charge of disseminating Ignacio’s story, José narrated what happened to his son and explained what they plan to do to support the young man of only 18 years.
On May 7 of last year, Nachito had an accident, it will be ten months since his accident, for which he was hospitalized for four months in an emergency hospital here in Córdoba. He was in a motorcycle accident, he suffered extensive brain damage and his diagnosis is quadriplegia. We don’t believe it was that way… because we see that he makes us gestures with his eyes and body gestures.
In addition, Mr. José assures that they have been quite hard months for the whole family, but due to different aids, they managed to cover the expenses of an expensive clinic for three months. However, now that their money has run out, as a first option they decided to put their house up for sale, since there is the possibility that a new treatment will help Ignacio.
There is the possibility that through a stem cell transplant their quality of life will improve and achieve healing as much as possible. We believe and trust very much that God will give us that miracle, but it has a lot of cost.
With the sale of the house, they would only be able to afford a single session of this type of treatment, since each session costs between 60,000 and 76,000 dollars, but the boy requires at least three sessions. That’s why they came up with a raffle for the house to get all the funds they need.
The family put 20,000 tickets up for sale at a cost of $15.22 each, of which, at the time of the interview, only 800 had been sold. Let’s hope they manage to sell as many numbers as possible to help Ignacio. The raffle will be next July.
