“No, I will not participateFraser told G.Q. in an interview published Wednesday, when asked if he would attend the awards ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), if invited.
“It’s because of the history I have with them,” he continued. “And my mother did not raise a hypocrite.”
In 2018, the actor accused former HFPA president Philip Berk of groping him at an event in 2003.
Berk denied the accusation, but acknowledged a written apology at the time.
The HFPA, after an investigation sparked by Fraser’s indictment, concluded that Berk’s groping “was intended to be taken as a joke and not a sexual advance“.
Fraser, one of the biggest names in Hollywood in the 1990s, starred in a series of blockbusters such as George of the Jungle Y The Mummybefore his film career declined towards the end of the 2000s.
