This small town is a hidden gem to get lost in and is barely an hour from Madrid. In addition to its nature, it is known for its wines, its gastronomy, and we can visit the San Juan Reservoir and San Martin de Valdeiglesias they are very close.
Cadalso de los Vidrios, the ideal town to do sports in the middle of nature
The name comes from afar, when Carlos III built the Real Fábrica de Vidrios and it was renamed Gallows of the Vidrios. The best thing is that it has a little-known landscape, with wild nature in an enviable environment full of routes for hiking, mountain biking and outdoor sports that make it an the perfect getaway to escape the city.
Peña Muñana is the emblem of Cadalso de los Vidrios and from its summit at 1104 meters we can enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the area. But it’s not the only one hiking route that we can do. The royal port route or the El Encinar route are some examples.
In addition to the nature of its surroundings, the town has some areas that you can visit such as the Villena Palace, built in the 15th century and which has two facades and a beautiful 16th-century garden with a stone pond.
