You probably know Patty Meza from her streams, or from her role as a cosplayer, or perhaps as an EXA TV host. The joke is that Patty is doing everything all the time. That’s why we sat down to talk to her so she could tell us how she can do all of this, in addition to starting out as a voice actress.
This is how Patty Meza began in cosplay
It all started with San Chan, a girl who has been cosplaying for many years and who knows a lot about it, we were invited to a convention, but they asked us to go cosplay, I didn’t have anything, she lent me one and I went knowing nothing, everything was new to me although I had many prejudices. When I did it I loved the concept of falling in love with a character, having people look at you and tell you if you are alike or not. A few months after that I did my first cosplay by myself and from there I didn’t stop and even less in the pandemic, which was where it stood out.

This is what got her hooked on cosplay
Go level up. It all starts with a wig and makeup, but each time you add more details. I am not a cosplayer who is dedicated to selling sessions, so I go for characters that I like. This is a way to express love to a character that you are very attracted to because when you watch anime there are many that mean something in your life even if you know they are fictional. This is a way to pay homage to that character, plus I love the process of designing everything.
But your streams are your priority
I recently switched platforms from Facebook Gaming to Twitch and have been doing really well with that. Of everything I do right now it’s what I do best, there’s a lot of competition but I have a well established community that supports me no matter where I go.
Patty Meza’s passion: voice dubbing
I’m trying to break through because there are actors who have been in the industry for years, there’s a lot of competition, a lot of talent, I studied it for two and a half years along with acting courses. At the moment I am making very small characters. One of my upcoming challenges is to have a bigger character, that’s how it is for those of us who are starting, an actor was missing, so you do it or they use you to create environments.

If Patty could just have one of the things she does that would be…
With dubbing, since I was a child it is something that I have liked and although I have not been able to do it full time, but I would love to do it, what I would not leave would be my streams, they are my priority.
This is what’s next for Patty Meza
Do more dubbing and more elaborate cosplays. I want to add more props to the point of completely changing my look, Pinhead style, which has his bald head and all those spikes on his head.
