It’s been eight years since ‘Breaking Bad’ came to an end. Considered by many to be one of the best series of all time, shortly after came ‘Better Call Saul’, a prequel and spin-off focused on the character played by Bob Odenkirk that now has resolved one of the great doubts left by the end of ‘Breaking Bad’.
Huell’s fate
Some may not already remember Huell, Saul Goodman’s henchman played by Lavell Crawfordbut those responsible for ‘Better Call Saul’ have not forgotten that the fate of his character in ‘Breaking Bad’ became a recurring joke for fans of the series.
Recall that at the end of ‘Breaking Bad’, Huell was in a DEA safe house, agents Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) and Hank Schrader (dean norris) manage to elicit from him the information they need about Walter White (Bryan Cranston). They then leave, promising to return, but both end up dying before they get the chance.
Beware of ‘Better Call Saul’ spoilers from here
For this reason, some followers of ‘Breaking Bad’ did not hesitate to joke that Huell would still be waiting for his return. Well, the most recent episode of ‘Better Call Saul’ has finally revealed what happened next with Huell. In a scene where Francesca (Tina Parker) talks on the phone with his old boss, Saul tells him the following:
Huell, I guess, went back to New Orleans. The DEA held him under false pretenses or something, and the last I heard, he got away.
It was obvious that the joke had no chance of being real and that ‘Better Call Saul’ had not forgotten about Huell, as the character has appeared in several episodes. The answer may be less funny, but now it’s official.
