According to the media, the contract is valued at more than 100 million euros (about 106.89 million dollars).
“I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country. I have been lucky to achieve incredible things in my career and to achieve as much as I can in Spain and in Europe,” said the 35-year-old Benzema.
“Now I feel the time is right for a new challenge and project…I am looking forward to joining my new teammates and, together with them, helping to take this incredible club and Saudi Arabian football to new levels.”
Al-Ittihad captured the Saudi Pro League title for the first time since 2009 last month.
“The arrival of Benzema is the most impressive signing in the club’s history to date,” Al Ittihad said in a statement. “It also marks another big step on the Saudi Pro League’s path to becoming one of soccer’s premier destinations for the world’s best.”
At Real Madrid, Benzema won the Champions League five times, four LaLiga crowns and three Copa del Rey trophies, as well as five Club World Cups and four UEFA Super Cups.
